How Do I...

  • Join? 
    • Joining the Healthy Newborn Network is both easy and free. Simply select any of the "Join Now" portals around the site and fill out the form, either as a Partner Organization or an Individual Member, whichever applies to you. You will receive an email asking you to authenticate your account and then you are ready to contribute! 
  • Add Content?
    • First, it is important to note that only Partner Organizations and Contributors have the ability to add content to HNN. 
    • Second, as a Partner or Contributor, you have a "Dashboard" that is always present on the right side of the page where you have the ability to post several types of content. Choose the content type you need, and fill out the required fields, as indicated by a star next to the heading.  Be sure to select "Save" at the bottom of the page.
  • Post a Photo or Video?
    • Photo
      • If you want to put a photo in the body of a post, select the "Insert/Edit Image" icon on the tool bar (on the far left, it is yellow with two mountains), select "Browse Server", "upload" at the top of the new window, and then "Choose File".  Once you have uploaded your photo, click on the preview image at the bottom right, and it will appear on your post. 
      • Next, select "Input format" below the body of the post, and ensure that "Full HTML" has been selected.  If your photo does not show up once you have saved your post, it is likely that you forgot to select "Full HTML". 
    • Video 
      • Most videos have an "embed code".  Copy this embed code, go to the body of your post and select "Source" at the top left of the tool bar, and paste the embed code into the body.  Be sure that you have selected "Source" first, and also that you go to "Input Format"' below the body and select Full HTML, or the video will not appear once you have saved the post.
      • You can change the size of the video player by tailoring the "height" and "width" in the embed code to your specifications. 
  • Start a Blog? 
    • Only Contributors can initiate a blog on the topic of their choice.  Select "Post Commentary" and fill in the required fields. You can add photos or media if you wish.  Once you post it, registered members will be able to comment to it and initiate discussion. Monitor your blog to ensure that it remains on topic. 

Where Can I Find... 

  • Blogs & Live Discussions?
    • The blogs and live discussions are all housed under the commentary page.  
      • To find the next Live Discussion, either sign up for the newsletter OR see the "Next Live Discussion" block on the commentary page. 
  • Jobs?
    • You can find jobs either by entering the "Jobs" portal at the top right of HNN, or by looking at the 'Jobs' tab on the partner pages of the organizations you are interested in.
