Summary

The purpose of this supplement is to evaluate available evidence on the burden of disease, etiology, antimicrobial resistance, and potential options for management of neonatal sepsis at the community level. The first 3 papers in this supplement resulted from a comprehensive review of the literature on neonatal sepsis commissioned by the Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Development, World Health Organization (WHO).
