As part of the MamaToto (Muskoka) Project, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, HCU has developed a manual for training Village Health Teams (VHTs) in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH). The manual is designed to build health promotion skills and knowledge related to MNCH, including nutrition. The training intends to complement VHT’s initial training, combining participatory learning methods, expert knowledge, time test activities, and ideas and feedback from Ugandan trainers and participants over the past decade. The training aligns with national MNCH and VHT policy and guidelines.
