Care of the Small and Sick Newborn Community of Practice Webinars
Previously known as the KMC Acceleration Partnership (KAP) community of practice on the Knowledge Gateway, the CoP has expanded its technical reach to cover the Care of the Small and Sick Newborn (SSNB CoP) and is now hosted on the WHO-supported IBP Network platform.
The SSNB CoP will host a deep-dive into challenges and opportunities that countries face around the implementation of family centered in-patient care for newborns and young infants.
Facilitators will discuss three major themes around family centered care: (1) acceptance, motivation and partnership behavioral issues among providers and families; (2) infection prevention within sick newborn units; and (3) conducive family centered infrastructure in health facilities and within newborn inpatient units for mothers, family members and providers, as well as access to commodities.
Practitioners from across countries will come together to discuss challenges and generate solutions for implementing FCC, as well as share experiences and discuss pragmatic actions that countries can take in the current scenario. Participants will be able to join virtual breakout rooms, where experts will facilitate discussions and answer questions.
