Access to contraceptives can play an important role in the health of mothers and newborns. When women have access to contraception and can safely space births it lowers risks to their health and that of their baby. The 26th of September is a global awareness day recognized by UNFPA and other organizations, including HNN, which aims to bring awareness to the importance of access to contraceptives, empowering and supporting women to access and use contraceptives as well as providing information on the many different forms of contraception that can be used.
