Ashish Guerra

Dr. Ashish KC is the Senior Programme Coordinator of Nepal program for Save the Children’s Saving Newborn Lives Program, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He provides strategic leadership and coordination with Save the Children, stakeholders and government counterparts to make newborn health a priority. Prior to joining as Program Manager, Dr. KC served as program coordinator for the community-based Newborn Care Program functioning as liaison officer between Save the Children and the Ministry of Health. He has worked as a consultant for ACCESS in Nepal, the USAID-funded program where he conducted the baseline survey for low birth weight babies in 2006. He has clinical experience, particularly in pediatrics and neonatology having worked at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kathmandul. He also holds a medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS) from the hospital and is pursuing a Masters in Health Care Management from Pokhara University.
