Manisha Nair

 Dr. Manisha Nair (MBBS, MSc, DPhil) is the Lead Epidemiologist and Health Services Researcher for UKNeS at the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit, Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford. She is currently working towards establishing an obstetric surveillance system in India, as a collaborative initiative between an Indian University and University of Oxford. Her recently completed research was in the area of social determinants of health and analysed the effects of a wage-for-employment policy on infant malnutrition in India using mixed methods and structural equation modelling. Manisha was a scholar under the Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholars (FICRS) programme, National Institutes of Health, USA, when she led a team to design a multicentre surveillance study on cardiometabolic diseases for South Asia. She was a scholar of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) at University of Oxford during her MSc and a Weidenfeld scholar for DPhil. Previously, she has worked as a consultant for the National Polio Surveillance Project of the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a Surveillance Medical Officer and State Routine Immunisation Officer. Manisha has published in the areas of maternal and child health, social determinants of health, non-communicable diseases and medical education
