MARK.PATRICK

Mark Patrick is a paediatrician based at Greys Hospital, Pietermaritzburg, responsible for child health and outreach in the inland region of Kwazulu-Natal. His responsibilities include running Ward A1 and the Paediatric Cardiac Clinic, and developing systems that improve the quality of care received by children in the South African Health System. He is a founder member and co-developer of the ‘Child Healthcare Problem Identification Programme’ (Child PIP) and sits on the Ministerial ‘National Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality Committee (NaPeMMCo). He is married to Sue Harris and they have two boys, James (14) and Benjamin (11). Interests include indigenous gardening, sailing, walking in the mountains and Schubert’s String Quintet in C, whose second movement is worth listening to as Andiswa’s Story unfolds.
