Taroub Harb Faramand

Dr. Taroub Harb Faramand, MD, MPH Founder and President of Women Influencing Health, Education and Rule of Law (WI-HER), Dr. Faramand is also a gender technical advisor for the USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems (ASSIST). She brings close to 30 years of experience in the development and health sectors including MNCH, RH/FP, HIV/AIDS, ID, NCD and Gender to WI-HER.  Dr. Faramand is a versatile and proactive leader with extensive senior and board level management experience and has the technical expertise to design, implement, monitor and evaluate integrated health and education programs. Due to her deep understanding of USAID and the donor community, she has created numerous public/private partnerships, which have led to the procurement of numerous multi-million dollar donations. Throughout her career she has exhibited an ability to identify and capitalize upon opportunities due to her strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Dr. Faramand has the expertise to organize country specific efforts that are adapted to a variety of settings including conflict and hard to reach areas. Because of her knowledge and work on development issues around the world, she has presented to the US Congress and the World Bank on numerous occasions. In 2002, the US Ambassador Martin Indyk presented her the Meritorious Award for her exceptional achievements in Public Health for Palestinians. She is fluent in English, Arabic and Russian.
