Improving Newborn Health and Survival in Uganda through Community Based Intervention – Part 2

UNEST is a 4 year cluster randomized controlled trial implemented in two districts of Iganga and Mayuge in rural eastern Uganda. The major aim of this study is to adapt, develop and cost an integrated maternal-newborn care package that links community and facility care; and to evaluate its effect on maternal and neonatal practices in order to inform policy and scale up in Uganda. Part 2 of this video is a continuation of Part 1, discussing the issues that affect newborn care and survival in Uganda and how community interventions can be effective.
