The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Strategy (SRHRS) 2011– 2016 is a revised version of the first RH strategy 2006 – 2010. The need for revision was to address several issues and challenges that were not factored in the previous strategy. In addition, the revision was done to incorporate emerging high impact evidence based best practices such as FP/HIV/MNCH Integration; Basic Emergency Obstetric and New Born Care; Helping Babies Breathe to promote resuscitation of the new-born; Community Maternal and New Born Health; provision of Antiretroviral Therapy for Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV ; Post natal care within 48 hours for prompt identification of danger signs in the mother and neonate and proper management; DMPA provision at community level; Post-Partum Family Planning to avoid missed opportunities.
