View Resource

This year’s State of the World’s Mothers report, focusing on the widespread problem of children having children, identifies 50 perilous places where the problem is particularly severe. The first-ever Early Motherhood Risk Ranking (see page 17) analyzes countries where child motherhood is most common and where the consequences are most devastating. It tells us where girls are most at risk of marrying young and having babies too young. It also tells where the greatest precentages of babies born to child mothers are dying before they reach their first birthday.
