2013 State of the World’s Mothers: Surviving the First Day of Life: Uganda

Every year Save the Children releases its State of the World’s Mothers Report. This year, the report focuses on the health, wellbeing and chance of survival for both mothers and newborn babies.

In this video from Uganda, mother Harriet talks about how midwife Betty helped her just-born son Pius breathe after he was born not breathing. Thanks to the training Betty received, Pius survived and has a good chance to survive and thrive.
