The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has recently launched a tool on promoting culturally safe childbirth. This tool is developed as part of regional efforts to ensure all people and communities have access, without any discrimination, to comprehensive, appropriate, and timely quality health services.
This easy-to-use tool introduces an intercultural approach in reproductive care (with emphasis on delivery and the postpartum period) while taking into the account the perceptions of healthcare providers, indigenous women and outside observers.
