The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is Inspire Inclusion.

Women are essential to providing accessible and quality maternal and newborn care, from caregivers such as doctors and midwives to researchers and mothers themselves, but women’s voices and opinions can often be overlooked in healthcare. We must include women across the continuum of care in order to provide respectful and quality care, giving every newborn and mother the best chance to survive and thrive.
