Elizabeth vasa

Elizabeth is passionate about woman- and girl-centered approaches to health and development. She is interested in health systems strengthening and community-owned, innovative interventions to promote women’s health. A Development Studies concentrator at Brown University, Elizabeth is writing a senior thesis on strategies to reduce maternal mortality in Nepal consistent with Obama’s Global Health Initiative. Elizabeth has conducted health services field research in Uganda, Nepal, India, China, and South Africa. She currently interns with Maternova, a marketplace for innovation in maternal and neonatal heath. Elizabeth wasselected as a Goldman Sachs Global Leader in 2009 and was recently named one of 50 Young Champions for Women. She wants to work in global health policy and intervention design—and be a prenatal yoga instructor on the side.
