Nabeela Ali

Dr. Nabeela Ali - one of the most distinguished public health expert, strategic planner and implementer - is a medical doctor with Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, USA. She has been working for the health and wellbeing of the people of Pakistan for the last 25 years in both public and private sectors. Equipped with rich experience of serving rural and marginalized communities, Dr. Nabeela has been involved in conceptualization and implementation of a number of national policies, plans and strategies. She is currently leading Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN) - one of the biggest donor funded health and family planning projects in the history of Pakistan that is being implemented at federal, provincial, and district levels as well as in Azad Kashmir and FATA. The project is a model of integrated health management and implementation and has successfully tested the functional integration of health and family planning services in Pakistan. In addition to her distinguished services in improving health sector in Pakistan, Dr. Nabeela is also an active board member of several renowned national and international organizations including Technical Group on Neonatal Infections, WHO, Geneva; Advisory Group for International Best Practices (IBP) Global; Board of Governors Health Services Academy, Pakistan; Task force on Health for Health Minister of Pakistan; and Technical Advisory Group of Ministry of Health, Government of Pakistan. To further add to her credits, Dr. Nabeela has also had the distinction of presenting the successful experience of Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus Elimination Campaign, which she led in 64 districts of Pakistan, at the UN General Assembly Session 2002/2003. Dr. Nabeela provides technical policy support and guidance to several government departments including the Ministry of Health and Population Welfare, Pakistan.
