This five-paper Series on ending preventable stillbirths 1–5 reports on the present state of stillbirths, highlights missed opportunities, and identifies actions for accelerated progress to end preventable stillbirths and reach 2030 maternal, neonatal, and child survival targets. As a collaboration of 216 authors, investigators, and advisers representing 43 countries and more than 100 organisations, we present a renewed call to action for the post-2015 era, framed within the context of health, survival, and overall quality of care for women
and their babies.
