New MNCAH Data Portal

View Resource

The World Health Organization (WHO) Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health is launching a platform for Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) data. Users will be able to view data through various lenses within a defined set of parameters and export data and visualizations from the portal. This platform is envisioned as one of the major steps to fill the gaps in essential information needed for monitoring progress and to facilitate policy dialogues, by bringing together the existing information from multiple sources.

The key source necessary for global and national level MNCAH data is spread across national Ministries of Health and government offices; WHO country, regional, and headquarters offices; United Nations agencies and non governmental organization; research and academic institutions; and inter-agency estimation groups.

Ministries of Health are the original source for national health data, especially the country’s acceptance and uptake of various WHO recommendations on MNCAH related guidelines, policies and strategies. Despite many efforts, these data are not consolidated in a systematic manner globally, in order to generate an evidence base planning, monitoring, and evaluation. This new data platform will organize and present MNCAH data in a user-friendly interface with dynamic data display tools.

The data portal can be found here.
