Guide to implementing 7.1% chlorhexidine digluconate for umbilical cord care

View Resource

The Guide to Implementing 7.1% chlorhexidine digluconate for umbilical cord care was developed based on the experience of the Chlorhexidine Working Group (CWG) partners to help policymakers, health providers, donors and other key stakeholders facilitate the introduction of chlorhexidine into newborn care services in low and middle-income countries. The guide consists of three phases: Get Ready, Plan, and Execute, and each of the three phases is composed of activities that facilitate introduction and scale-up. The guide also includes a list of helpful documents that the CWG partners have developed to effectively conduct activities or address issues at each phase.
