Maternal Health: Uganda falls short on MDG goal

A new report by Save The Children shows that Millennium Development Goal 4, reducing child mortality, may not be achieved if emphasis is not given to the assistance mothers need within the first 24 hours of childbirth. In 2012 alone, globally one million babies died within the first 24 hours of their lives. Uganda has, however, made strides in the last 10 years with simple inexpensive technology.
