WHO recommends KMC for routine care for newborns weighing less than 2000 grams at birth. In 2013, the Government of Bangladesh adopted four high-impact newborn interventions, including KMC, for scaling up across the country. Following the declaration in 2013, stakeholders decided to develop a standard guideline for consistent implementation nationwide.
